Day 5

This morning I had 2 boiled eggs + 1 avocado + cilantro and salt for breakfast. This meal is surprisingly filling!

For a snack I had a cluster of grapes.

For lunch, I decided to save my 2 remaining salads for Sunday & Monday because I have more groceries coming via peapod on Monday. I had some fun trying to whip up a combination of whole 30 approved foods into some kind of "hash" that was very satisfying!

Riced broccoli (bought at Trader Joes), sweet potato cubed and leftover veggies from last night's dinner.


For dinner, I made an instant pot recipe of chicken tikka masala. It was AWESOME and all 4 of us ate it which is a miracle all in itself! I couldn't believe it was whole 30 compliant since I made it with ghee instead of butter and had cauliflower rice instead of regular rice. WOW! I could make this every week and be very happy.


All in all, I've been doing okay! I've had occasional cravings and occasional temptations, especially when there are sweets around, but I have been feeling more and more like I am so surprised how many tasty things I *am* allowed to eat. When I tell people "no dairy, no grains, no sugar, no legumes, no alcohol", they say "what CAN you eat??" and it sounds so restrictive. But the meals I've had so far have been amazing and on par with or better than dinners I made pre-whole 30. They are delicious and satisfying and I am so shocked that I don't really feel deprived at all.

Granted, its day 5 and there are 25 days left of this, but it just doesn't seem so bad so far.

Except for the coffee. The coffee is killing me.
